Stay in The Know About Travel!
Beginning May 7, 2025, every air traveler 18 years of age and older will need a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license, state-issued enhanced driver’s license, or another acceptable form of ID to fly within the United States.
Check for the star. Generally, REAL ID compliant cards are marked with a star at the top of the card. State-issued enhanced driver's licenses are also acceptable, and marked with a flag. If you’re not sure if your card is REAL ID compliant, contact your state driver’s license agency.

What are the new rules for US citizens traveling to Europe?
To visit, you'll have to apply for approval under the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS). You will apply online, and the authorization, which will be linked to your passport, will account for short-term stays, including up to 90 days in 180 days.
What is the UK Electronic Travel Authorization?
The UK ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is a digital travel document required for most foreign visitors entering the United Kingdom. Similar to the U.S. ESTA, the ETA aims to enhance border security while streamlining the travel process for international travelers. It enables the UK to screen travelers before their arrival, helping to reduce potential security risks and ensuring a smoother entry experience at the border.
The ETA is not a visa and does not serve as a substitute for individuals who need one. Instead, it is an additional requirement for travelers visiting the UK without a visa for short-term stays. This includes tourists, business travelers, and those transiting through the UK.
Who Will Need the UK Electronic Travel Authorization?
The UK is implementing the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) program in phases. It started in 2023 for travelers from select Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Jordan. Starting January 8, 2025, travelers from non-European countries, including the U.S., Canada, and Australia, must apply for an ETA before visiting the UK. Applications will open on November 27, 2024.
Additionally, as of April 2, 2025, citizens of European countries will also need an ETA, making it a requirement for all visa-exempt travelers. The application process for Europeans will begin on March 5, 2025.
If you're a U.S. citizen planning to visit the UK in 2025 or later, ensure you apply for your ETA before your trip.
How do you apply for ETIAS?
Travelers from the 60 visa-exempt countries must apply through the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) website. There is a fee of approximately $7.63 for the ETIAS screening, which applies only to applicants aged 18 to 70 at the time of application. Those who are under 18 or over 70 are exempt from this fee. To avoid additional service and processing charges from your bank, consider using a credit card that does not have international fees.
When should I apply for ETIAS?
Once the program is launched, it is advisable to apply for an ETIAS as soon as you finalize your travel plans. Most applications are typically processed within minutes. However, some applications may require additional time for processing. If your application needs further review, it could take up to four business days for a decision. In cases where you are asked to provide extra information or documentation, the processing time may extend to 14 business days. Additionally, if you are selected for a security screening interview, your ETIAS application could take up to 30 days to be processed.

Traveling With Physical Disabilities
There's no reason for a family member with a permanent or temporary physical limitation to stay home during a trip. Accessible travel is more popular than ever and with proper planning.
Plan in Advance
Whether you’re traveling with someone with a permanent or temporary physical disability, the challenges remain the same. The U.S. Department of State is a good general resource, while The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) details what accommodations should be made. Even though U.S. hotels, transportation, and cruise ships sailing in U.S. waters are required to be ADA-compliant, don’t assume that the foreign equivalent will be. If transportation, a cruise, hotel, or other lodging (such as Airbnb) isn’t ADA-compliant, call ahead to discuss what accommodations can be made.
Frequently Asked Questions.
I plan vacations on my own all the time, do I really need a travel agent?
A skilled travel agent is SOT (Seller of Travel) trained and regulated and acts as your personal guide and advisor, connecting you with reputable tour operators and handling the complexities of booking airfare, rental cars, and cruise lines tailored to your needs. They help you uncover exclusive upgrades, valuable travel tips, and discounts that enhance your travel experience.
The benefits of working with a travel agent are significant. They quickly manage unexpected issues, ensuring your holiday stays on track, and often secure better deals than you may not have access to find on your own. Trust their expertise to make your journeys remarkable and memorable.
Why use a travel agent instead of booking online?
Travel agents save you time, allowing you to enjoy your vacation without the hassle. They eliminate the guesswork involved in researching and evaluating various options for popular destinations, saving you both time and the headaches often associated with vacation planning.
What to check before you travel?
Copies of Important Documents: Photocopies or digital copies of your passport, visa, insurance, and itinerary. Vaccination Certificates: Check if any vaccinations are required for your destination. Medications: Enough supply of prescription medications and a basic first-aid kit.
Are trips more expensive with a travel agent?
It’s a common misconception that using a travel agent will always increase your costs. In reality, most travel agents earn their income through commissions paid by hotels or vendors for creating the relationship between the clients and outfitters. Clients are not responsible for commission to the agent. While some agents may charge a fee for creating an itinerary, most will waive that fee if you choose to book the trip through them.
Do I Need Travel Insurance?
When traveling domestically, you don't need as much insurance as you would to travel internationally. However, it is still a good idea to have insurance in place to cover lost or stolen baggage, trip cancellation should you need to cancel at the last minute and a small amount of medical insurance. We will always encourage you tp protect your leisure investment.
